Chicken encounter.

This morning we had a close encounter with some chickens, one of our teachers had raised a chick from an egg an she brought it in brought to show us. The chick was lonely and needed an adoptive mother to look after it. We all got to hold the chick, the mother was a Silkie and the chick was a Australorp. We learnt that it takes 21 days for a chick to hatch and that it has to be 38 degrees.

Athletics

On Wednesday 14 November Owairaka School had athletics. We had 100 metres, 200 metres, high jump, long jump, discus and shot put. I managed to get into inter school in 100 metres and my friend Harry got in on 100 metres 200 metres and long jump.

I really enjoyed athletics and I encourage other people to do it.
